Personal Insight #4

We all go through similar situations and we all go through a similar process to fill out

college applications, but ultimately we are all incomparable. We dont talk the same, dress the

same, let alone think the same. Everyone is made up of different elements; we are all special in

our own unique ways and what makes me unparalleled is my positive view on everything.

I am described as shy and mousy by many, but that couldnt be farther from the truth. I

consider myself a colorful and cheerful person, sure I may have some bad days, but that doesnt

stop me from continuing on and trying new things. My mentality has always been quite positive

ever since a very young age, because I try to maintain an open mind and an open heart about

everything.

Growing up in a diverse community has definitely influenced my vibrant personality

because I know no restrictions to happiness and joy. It is inevitable for anyone to run away from

negativity because it is everywhere, but I constantly try to be a ray of sunshine to those who have

trouble looking for the light at the end of the tunnel.

I dont reckon to be perfect, Im far from it; however, I do feel like someone many people

can learn from. It may not be healthy for my own sanity, but I have always been the type of

person who puts others before myself. Im not the best singer, the best dance or even the best

cook, but I know how to love and care.

A big dream of mine is to be able to inspire others to become that light many people

desperately need because I truly believe that despite all the hate that exists on earth, positivity

and love is much stronger. I believe that this special gift of mine will be beneficial to the social

work community, which is exactly what I want to major in, because those whom seek for help

from it are also in need of a person who will show he/she cares--someone like me.
