*Claim = Repeat first claim with different wording as a conclusion
Example:
*Jeannette from The Glass Castle is a reliable narrator. [In the story, Jeannette
describes a memory from her childhood in which she got burned cooking hotdogs.]
Jeannette does not simply summarize the event, she uses details of what
happened to her pink dress and how the hospital looked when telling the story. In
addition, [Jeannette is talking about her own life because she is writing a memoir.]
That means she is writing about her own memories, which she lived and
remembers. In conclusion, *because Jeannette uses details and writes about her
own memories, we are able to believe her story.

meet new friends.
____ Jeannette Walls has a very interesting childhood.
____ In addition, the memoir shares that she lived in several different places.
____ For example, she learned to read and shoot a gun before the age of 5.
____ To conclude, Jeannette did not have a normal childhood but it was very
adventurous.
____ Most children at 5 years of age are playing with baby toys and watching tv.

Paragraph for Honors (You can sub it out):

Wes Moore from The Other Wes Moore is a reliable narrator. [In the story, Wes
includes numerous photographs of the characters discussed in the story.] The
pictures serve as physical proof that the people mentioned in the story are real
people. In addition, [Wes mentions that he spent many hours interviewing many
people involved in both his, and the Other Wes Moores life stories]. This clearly
shows he did not make up information, as we worked tirelessly to gather the
correct facts to tell the stories. In conclusion, *we are able to believe and trust the
information presented in the story as facts.
