Jonathon Neumann - Second Paper

The fact that God exists in Trinity matters in ministry because ministry is about

relationships founded in the relational character of God.

God is relational the Gospel of John states that the Son glorifies the Father (John 17:4),

the Father glorifies the Son (John 17:5), and the Spirit glorifies the Son (John 16:14). 1 Timothy

Keller, the author of The Reason for God, states: to glorifysomeone is to praise, enjoy, and

delight in them.1 Before creation, the three persons of God delighted, loved, and praised one

another God was perfect. Yet, He decided to create us, man and woman, to share in His

relationship and His joy.

However, we have failed to enjoy a relationship with the triune God and with each other. It is

stated in Romans 3:23 (NIV): for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. However,

in His grace, love, and faithfulness, God has redeemed us (John 3:16-17). Now, we, humanity,

have the opportunity to share Gods joy with each other by mirroring the character of God.

Philippians 2:5 (NIV) states: In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as

Christ Jesus This is what we are to do in Christs ministry praise, delight, love, and enjoy

each other and God. Christian leaders, coaches, teachers, friends, co-workers, and spouses are

needed in the world to display the character of God.

God does exist in the Trinity, and as followers of Him it is important for us to mirror His

relational character. Just as the three persons of God care for one another, let us, as ambassadors

of Christ, care for each other.
