ACTION PLAN

To contribute to the goal of preparing reflective practitioners, student teachers will write an Action Plan at the end of first, second, and third field
experience with input from their cooperating teacher and/or the University supervisor. The Action Plan synthesizes each field experiences
evaluation, links each field experience to the next, establishes goals for improvement, and forms an agenda for discussion between the student
teacher, the cooperating teacher and University supervisor at the beginning of the subsequent field experience. For First Field Experience only
(excluding Physical Education students), the Action Plan will be completed during the co-requisite Professional Seminar course.

During my third field experience, I have shown thorough to advanced development in the following
competencies: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 12.

I would like to improve my skills in the following Professional Competencies developed during this field
experience:
Competency 9: To cooperate with school staff, parents, partners in the community and students in
pursuing the educational objectives of the school.

Ultimately, I feel as though due to the ban on extra curricular activities, I was unable to engage in
as many activities and projects outside of my hours spent within the school. I do, however, believe
participating in creating a positive school community can be done within the school walls as well,
which is something I believe I can improve on.

I will make use of the following strategies for improvement:

Ultimately, considering the ban on extra curricular activities, it is imperative that a teacher continue to pursue the
objectives of the school in other ways, all while working with other members of the school staff, parents, partners in
the community as well as students. All these members within the school community are ready and willing to help
teachers reach these educational objectives in the school. In the future, I will attempt to organize more activities and
engaging projects for students within the classroom and make it a part of the learning curriculum. This will require me
to speak with other teachers about a potential cross-curricular project and discuss the limitations to what I can
accomplish within my classroom with the school's administration. Currently, I allow students to come to my classroom
at lunch for additional help in English, but I could speak to my CT in the future about implementing an English book
club or an activity that further interests the students who now cannot work with their teachers after school. Ultimately,
during an ECA ban situation like the one the education system in Quebec is currently in, it is crucial for teachers like
myself to get creative and support the students and their school community the best way we can.
