This course is offered to equipped students with


knowledge of material responses to electromagnetic
fields. The major topics covered in this course are :
Definition of optical constants;
Electromagnetic field interaction with non-absorptive dielectric;
Electromagnetic field interaction with metal,
Basic concepts of Electromagnetic field interaction with non-
absorptive matter;
Electromagnetic field interactions with atoms, molecules,
polymers and semiconductor crystals;
Electromagnetic field interaction with nano structured
materials;
Electromagnetic field interaction with meta-materials;
Light Scattering theory
