SPOTLIGHT: Rebecca Penerosa is currently the Visiting
Assistant Professor of Arts Education at Westminster College where she oversees the Beverley Taylor Sorenson Arts Learning Program and ArtsBridge. She recently graduated with a Ph.D. in Music Education from The University of Utah. She previously earned both a B.M. in Music Education and a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA. Her endeavors as a mezzo-soprano took her to Vienna, Austria and Milan, Italy, where she participated in multiple opera and jazz festivals. Shortly thereafter, a worldwide pursuit began in which travel to over twenty-eight different countries revealed a spark for multicultural music. Rebeccas research has since encompassed the value and perceptions placed upon multicultural music education and arts integration. Her choral experience spans the last 25 years beginning with a debut in the Sydney Opera House, Australia. She served as an elementary music educator and middle school choral director for eleven years in California, Missouri, and Utah. Her focus has been on ESL instruction and arts integration and remains such through the lens of higher education. Her passion includes creating and fostering ties among the community with classroom teachers, arts educators, and preservice students.

SPOTLIGHT: Melissa Gonzalez, dance specialist at Parleys Park Elementary School in Park City uses dance and literature (Many Luscious Lollipops by Ruth Heller) to teach adjectives to her students. SPOTLIGHT: The mission statement of Park Citys Weilenmann School of Discovery is To grow through opportunities for academic excellence, intellectual inquiry, artistic expression, creativity and discovery, and a strong connection to nature and the outdoors. This is exemplified by the integrated projects created in Visual Art specialist Mariah Kings art room. SPOTLIGHT: Only Kathleen Briley, Visual Art Specialist at South Summit Elementary School would have an art studio painted to look like Mondrians classic painting.
