The Original

The Original is a 5-minute Feminist sci-fi, which is set in the future. It is

a drama, which results in the main protagonist being cloned and the
clones being exploited by implanting them with a fascist mind set.

As we are in a patriarchal society, powerful women are often dismissed by

males and their voices arent heard. But what if theres one female to
stand up for them all. A woman to change the world for the better.

The story is firmly targeted at large audience due to the fact that males
and females are interested in the idea of having a feminist sci-fi. This
could be due to the fact that the sci-fi genre is male dominated and they
want to see something alternative. There has been a recent increase in
strong female leads in sci-fi.

BBC 4 has a very specific target audience of people 40 years and over,
this is due to the fact that they show programmes that appeal to them, an
example would be Britains Ancient Capital: Secrets of Orkney.
Therefore, by creating this 5-minute film I will be bringing a new target
audience to the channel due to the fact that my 5-minute film has the
target demographic of people aged 18-23.

Act 1
Starts with a montage of what has happened to the world, women have
become powerless and enslaved. Has a voiceover explaining what has
happened. (trump)
Gemma, a female rights protest leader, she is fighting the system, and
attempts to plant a bomb under an important persons car. She becomes
captured as she is caught by security, and taken to an unknown location.
Act 2
She is cloned, they make a clone of the clone, they do this until there are
7 including the original, each clone is given a tag with a number on it. We
see all 6 clones wired up, clone 6 is unwired and taken into a room, shes
left their alone.
Act 3
Gemma is in a spate room alone but escapes, she finds a shard of glass on
the floor from where she has escaped. She finds clone 6 In the room
alone, she then takes the clone back into the room Gemma was in and
returns to clone 6s room. The programme come and collect clone 6
which is actually Gemma, you see Gemma still with the glass shard.

Gemma Harrison
A young female protest leader, shes in her early 20s. She is an
abstract/unique person. She was brought up to accept everyone and
thats where she was inspired to fight for womens rights. She has tattoos
and piercings, and is rather quirky in general. She is anti-fascist.

Simon Clarke
Hes in his early 20s. works for a programme called The Gemini project
they aim to remove all female protesters and people who want female
rights from society. Dressed smart, well presented.

George
Also works for the programme. Early 20s. Dressed smartly, well presented.

2 security guards
Are part of the programme, theyre dressed in a suit. Well toned.
Cast for the montage
Male leaders, 5 of them.
Male cashier telling a female to leave the shop
Women in inappropriate clothing, male shouting and saying she needs to
wear other clothing, they take her away somewhere.
