Diploma of Engineering $89,000 7% increase in base salary when compared to 2011 results,
Bachelor of Engineering T echnology $88,000 9% while those with a Bachelor of Engineering Technology
Bachelor of Engineering $85,000 4% had a nine per cent increase; the highest percentage
Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma $100,000 3% increase of all the qualifications. The most notable change
Masters Degree $90,000 0% is the 17 per cent decrease for those with a Doctorate.

The tables and graphs below show the median base salary and total remuneration for full time employees by career stage and highest engineering
qualification.

As with previous years, the survey results suggest there is a financial benefit accruing from higher level education. The median base salary of
respondents with a Doctorate was $18,000 higher than those with a Bachelor degree as their highest qualification. While a difference in remuneration is
not apparent at early career stages one appears to emerge at Technical Management and General Management level.
