Tomorrow starts the operation of the Town hall for the holiday days of carnival

From 12:00 noon on Friday, February 24, 2017 starts the operation of the Municipality for the Carnival holiday 2017. The
Cabildo will mobilize 5937 officials to control the roads, land terminals and points of mass attendance.

According to Juan Zapata, Secretary of Security of the Municipality, for this holiday will be activated the tables of monitoring
and response in cases of traffic accidents, mass movements and floods. This is to ensure the safety of those who, during
the holidays, decide to stay in the capital.

The game with water is one of the characteristics of these dates. In order to protect its good use, in the public space, the
Department of Security of the Municipality reported that, since Wednesday, February 22, the drying of 33 pools in the north,
center and south of the city began. These pools will be disabled until next March 1st.

In terms of mobility, the Metropolitan Transit Agency (AMT) will work to control the main roads, such as Simn Bolvar
avenue, Ruta Viva, Interocenica, Mariscal Sucre and Maldonado, among others. At these points, they will control
documents, lights, tires and breathalyzer tests.

Other points of control will be the terrestrial terminals of Carceln, Quitumbe, micro terminals of the Marn and Coca River.
According to Fausto Miranda, supervisor of the AMT, in these places will be controlled to the units that go to provinces. For
this you will check the documents, glasses, tires, lights and test with the breathalyzer. Miranda also recalled that, during the
holiday, Peak and Plate does not apply in the capital.

Also, on the departure to the tourist destinations of the country, Zapata reported that, based on what was given last year, is
expected to leave about 500 thousand people. "Although Quito is also a tourist destination, the relationship between those
coming and going to Quito is five to one. It's more people who travel than the one who comes to the city at Carnival, "he
said. Zapata also indicated that the hours of operation of night entertainment centers is maintained. In addition, the Fire
Department will conduct a constant inspection in bars and clubs to ensure the proper functioning of the premises.

Desde las 12:00 de maana del viernes 24 de febrero de 2017 arranca el operativo del Municipio por el feriado
de Carnaval 2017. El Cabildo movilizar a 5937 funcionarios para controlar las vas, terminales terrestres y
puntos de concurrencia masiva.
Segn Juan Zapata, secretario de Seguridad del Municipio, para este feriado se activarn las mesas de
monitoreo y respuesta en casos de accidentes de trnsito, movimientos en masa e inundaciones. Esto con el
objetivo de precautelar la seguridad de quienes, durante los das de asueto, decidan quedarse en la capital.
El juego con agua es una de las caractersticas de estas fechas. Para precautelar su buen uso, en el espacio
pblico, la Secretara de Seguridad del Municipio inform que, desde el mircoles 22 de febrero, inici el
secado de 33 piletas en el norte, centro y sur de la ciudad. Estas piletas estarn inhabilitadas hasta el prximo 1
de marzo.
En lo que respecta a la movilidad, la Agencia Metropolitana de Trnsito (AMT) trabajar en el control de las
principales vas como la avenida Simn Bolvar, Ruta Viva, Interocenica, Mariscal Sucre y Maldonado, entre
otras. En esos puntos e harn control de documentos, luces, llantas y pruebas de alcoholemia.
Otros puntos de control sern los terminales terrestres de Carceln, Quitumbe, micro terminales de la Marn y
Ro Coca. Segn Fausto Miranda, supervisor de la AMT, en estos lugares se controlar a las unidades que
salgan a provincias. Para esto se verificarn los documentos, vidrios, labrado de llantas, luces y la prueba con
el alcoholmetro. Miranda tambin record que, durante el feriado, no aplica el Pico y Placa en la capital.
Tambin, sobre la salida a los destinos tursticos del pas, Zapata inform que, con base en lo que se dio el ao
pasado, se prev que salgan cerca de 500 mil personas. Aunque Quito tambin es un destino turstico, la
relacin entre quienes salen y vienen a Quito es de cinco a uno. Es ms la gente que viaja que la que arriba a
la ciudad en Carnaval, dijo. Zapata tambin indic que el horario de funcionamiento de los centros de
entretenimiento nocturno se mantiene. Adems, el Cuerpo de Bomberos realizar una inspeccin constante en
bares y discotecas para garantizar el correcto funcionamiento de los locales.
