An interview with MARCIA CLARK

Can we ask you a few questions?

Sure you can

What do you do?

I write Teen Trouble. I answer letters from teenagers and make suggestions.

How do teens contact you?

OK. Most of the letters are e-mails. Teenagers e-mail the magazine, then the magazine
sends the e-mails to me. I read about 50 e-mails every day. I choose a few very
interesting letters for the magazine.

Can we see the e-mails?

Absolutely not! Teenagers share serious problems with me. Sometimes they are secret.
You can read the letters that we put in the magazine, but you cant read the others.

What about telling us about the main problems teens write about?

Thats a good idea. A lot of teens ask for permissions to do things, for example, can I
have a tattoo? Their parents say NO, so they ask me. But I cant say Ill think about
it. That isnt my job! So I say what about talking to your parents? I make suggestions.

Thank you for talking with us!
