Explored the relationship between race and technology by examining the issues with
popular discourse of colour-blindness and post-racism. Investigated issues related to
socio-economic and racial exploitation under contemporary capitalism, specifically
regarding Canadian First Nations, Black Americans and Canadians, Muslim Immigrants,
and Syrian Refugees.

Intro to Video Theory and ProductionHuman Rights and Media

Learned to use the technology and tools necessary for video production including
video camera and accessories, and editing software. Increased technological
competence and allowed the application of personal creativity and initiative. Examined
the role that media has played in the development of universal human rights. Looked
at specific case studies and the key theoretical and legal debates about what it means
to be recognized by the political community called humanity.

Computer Science: Multimedia and CommunicationBlogs, Columns and

Opinion Editorials: Making Opinions Matter
Practiced writing different types of opinion pieces, from columns to blog posts to
editorials to reviews and more. Learned to write informed commentary on the issues of
the day in a timely manner and the how to make a reasoned argument.Learned
Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Dreamweaver, and Adobe Flash. Used personal
creativity and design skills to create websites, posters, and animations.
