FUNDFEST FEATURING THE JOHNNY TOPPERS

Live Concert to Raise Money for SPCA

HARRISONBURG, VIRGINIAA live show will be taking place in downtown

Harrisonburg on March 12, 2016. The event will fundraise money for the Rockingham-
Harrisonburg SPCA. It will begin at 12 a.m. and last until 9 p.m.
This effort is part of a local program called Block Party in the Burg. More than
3,000 residents attend. This festival brings awareness to local events and organizations
within the community. There is $10 dollar entrance fee implemented for adults to enter
and $5 for children.
Each year the Rockingham-Harrisonburg SPCA hosts a band. This year they will
be pairing with national band, The Johnny Toppers, Harrisonburg natives. Lead singer
Jasper Connelly said: we feel honored to play in our hometown and that the SPCA
reached out to us to headline the show. Its a great feeling to know were playing for a
good cause.
Last year Fundfest raised a total of $31,990 with 15% of that going to the SPCA.
The profits from Fundfest are split among the different organizations and companies that
register. The SPCAs final total was $4,798. They hope to surpass their $5,000 goal this
spring.
The Block Party in the Burg sheds light on all local businesses and organizations.
They invite food truck vendors, local restaurants, and large-scale organizations all to
participate
The SPCA is in charge of entertainment and closing out the show. Their
contribution is the main focus.
