PART 1

1. I performed an nslookup for www.miniinthebox.com and its IP is 104.95.80.149

2. I performed a lookup for University of Paris. Its authoritative servers are


ns(1-3).paris-sorbonne.fr

3. The ip address of the server is 195.64.164.87


PART 2
1. They are sent over UDP
2. The port for the DNS query and response is 53

3. Its sent to 192.168.1.1 which is the ip address of my preferred DNS server.

4. (From above screenshots) Its a type A and doesnt contain answers


5. There were 3 answers, containing host name, class, TTL, data length, type of address and
its IP

6. The first SYN packet was sent to 104.20.1.85

7. My host does not issue new DNS queries for images


PART 3

1. The destination and source ports of the DNS queries is 53

2. The query message is sent to 192.168.1.1 - the default local DNS server

3. The DNS query is type A and contains no answers

4. The response DNS has 3 answers, containing host name, type of address, class and ip
address

2. Its an NS DNS query that contains no answers
