We welcomed Hannah Shaw (top left), author of many written and illustrated books, and Sibéal Pounder (top right), author of the Witch Wars series of books Hannah ran workshops with all of the year groups at school; talking about her work and explaining where her inspiration comes from. Sibéal taught Years 5 and 6 how to create a character by dressing Mrs Beach in props that the children selected! TOCKINGTON Roel MANOR SCHOOL TOCKINGTON WORLD BOOK DAY On Thursday we invited children to dress up as their favourite book characters for World Book Day. We were thrilled with the huge variety and here are just some photos from the day. TOCKINGTON RIVE eng MANOR SCHOOL TOCKINGTON NURSERY The Nursery have been busy baking this week! On Tuesday we made pancakes and on Wednesday we made Welsh cakes. Needless to say everyone enjoyed both the making and the eating! TOCKINGTON MANOR SCHOOL 3 March 2017 TOCKINGTON NETBALL U8 H1 5 Netball Tournament Seven of our Year 3 girls played in a Hi 5 Netball tournament at Beaudesert Park on Saturday. Hi 5 is specifically designed for the younger children with an emphasis on learning the key skills in a fun learning environment. The girls rotated positions which gives lots of freedom to move around the court and enjoy a taste of each position Our girls thoroughly enjoyed the morning, winning against StJohn’s and Beaudesert but losing out to Wycliffe and The Downs. Well played everyone. U11 vs Wycliffe, TMS 8 - Wycliffe 7 An excellent game which was very close throughout the match. Player of the Match: Alys Wakeling U13 vs Wycliffe, TMS 11 — Wycliffe 12 Awell played match against Wycliffe's Ateam Players of the Match Micaela Cascajosa Isabel Browning & U9 vs Clifton College - Tournament Most improved players: Georgia Cooper & Gemmaallen U12 vs Wycliffe, TMS 12 —- Wycliffe 6 The girls played a mixed Y7 & 8 team and worked really hard on their passing and shooting. As we were dominating the match, we were able to swap around positions and give girls a chance to try attack, rather than defence and vice versa. The final score was 12-6 to TMS. The whole team contributed to the fantastic performance. FOOTBALL U13 vs Sidcot School, TMS 3 - Sidcot 3 Two well taken goals and a sound display in the entre of midfield Player of the Match: Ceredig Jones U11A vs Sidcot School, TMS 7 - Sidcot 0 Played two good matches winning 7-0 overall. Tough weather conditions but all enjoyed and played their best. Player of the Match: Ben Jacobi U11B vs Sidcot School Played two matches but sadly lost both Good effort shown in very tough conditions. Red badges this week to: 4. Jacob Browning Junior Course 9m 46s 2. MicaelaCascajosa Senior Course 16m 42s 3. Maddie Summers Senior Course 19m 08s. 4. Anna Baber Junior Course 10m 28s There were new list times from Angus Duncan 13m 25s, Jonathan Baguley 13m 50s and Harry Huby 13m 58s. They were all long awaited and much deserved. Freddie Cooper is now placed 13" on our Senior Boys list, he ran a fabulous 12m 07s. Ollie Gill and Jake Wakeling both lowered their personal bests to 12m 50s and 12m 39s respectively. George Bloomfield led the Junior Course home with 8m 06s, placing him 20" on our Junior list, a fantastic achievement as George is still in Year 5. Billy Rowe ran 8m 43s lowering his personal best by 3 seconds. Katie Shutt ran a strong race dipping below 9 minutes for the first time. Her 8m 45s placing her 21° on the Junior Girls list. Her sister, Rachel, continued her rise up the rankings with a stunning 13m 2s, placing her up to 8" on the Senior Girls table. Carmen Rey-Jones and Lara Walker lowered their personal bests to 15m 46s and 14m 43s respectively with their efforts. Dalis Jones broke her own Senior Girls record for the 2" time, slicing 8 seconds off the old mark from September 29". The new record stands at 11m 32.91s, a fantastic achievement. Can she go quicker and get closer to Alex Grocott’s Boys’ record?!
