Synopsis

My production focuses on domestic abuse and the story of Aisha Malya (19) who
has recently moved in with her boyfriend Denian Ray (20). Her job requires her
to work long shifts, which Denian doesnt like, but as they are short on money
and Denian doesnt have a job- Aisha has no choice. One night Aisha comes home
from work to find Denian drinking on the sofa, again. He gets angry about the
time she has come home and questions her integrity. Aisha tries her best to avoid
an argument, which doesnt end up working as Denian, becomes physical. As he,
angrily, he slams her laptop shut to get her attention before grabbing her face
forcing her to focus on him. Aisha gets frustrated with him and tries to push past
him and get the alcohol off him, which makes things worse. Aisha pours the
alcohol down the sink to which Denian retaliates by grabbing her hair and
physically abusing her as he repeatedly kicks her while shouting Its all your
fault. Fearfully, she looks around and grabs a kitchen knife holding it up towards
Denian. For a second her mind wanders off as Denians drunken voice shouting
becomes distant and everything slows down. She snaps back into reality as
Denian leaps forward at her to grab her, only to be stabbed with the knife in
Aishas hands. She lets go and watches him as he falls to his knees.
