It has been a pleasure to work with Jillian during her 40 hours of
classroom placement. Jillian is a highly motivated, reliable, organized
and resourceful individual who always strives to do her best. Jillian
obviously enjoys children and acts quickly to establish a positive
rapport with them. She has excellent observation skills and requires
little guidance and supervision. She responds to feedback graciously
and acts on it with intent to improve her learning. Jillian took the
initiative to go above and beyond to plan and deliver three whole group
lessons (Math, Language and Art) as well as assume responsibility for
a variety of small group and one on one learning opportunities with
students. Her lessons and activities were well thought- out and planned
precisely. Jillian has participated in and demonstrated a good
understanding of the learning cycle (Learning goal, Success criteria
and Descriptive Feedback) as well as the three part math lesson. She
has participated in the role of the teacher with involvement in planning,
delivering lessons, cross-grade and differentiated learning, marking,
classroom management, and school wide duty. Jillian is aware of the
significance of good classroom management and is beginning to use
and practice a variety of effective strategies. I have really enjoyed
getting to know Jillian and I wish her further success in her teaching
journey!
