Movement Idea: Turn off the lights. Have students hold an imaginary basket with one
arm (hand on hip). With the other hand, grab a star on the high sound, and put the star
in the basket on the low sound.

Unit 3-lesson 1

Bee Bee

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Game: Students stand in a circle with hands held in a fist ( bee hive) in front of them.
The teacher walks around and taps the beat above the bee hives. At the end of the
song, teacher buzzes students out. You can buzz how ever many you want, but usually
around 3-5. Continue until only one student remains.

Game: Divide students into two lines with each line facing the other. Pick one student
to be the tradesman. Students sing the song, as group 1 and group 2. At the end of
the song, the student chosen acts out a job, without making any sounds like charades.
(firefighter, teacher, doctor, etc.) The other team gets to guess the trade. They have 3
guesses to get the right answer, and if they do, they earn a point for their team.
Optional hints may be provided if the students are having a hard time. Note: a
discussion about types of trades, or jobs, is necessary before the game starts. Switch
students and continue.

Unit 3-lesson 1

Hey, Hey

Pick one student to be the leader. He/she gets to make up new lyrics to
replace singing and make up a movement that goes with it. The class
copies. Examples: I am brushing you can see, I am texting you can see, I am
laughing you can see, etc.. Note: You may have to talk about how singing
has two syllables and you need to pick a word that also has two sounds. So,
you cant say I am eating speghetti and meatballs with cheese on top you
can see. Kids love this simple game!
