Project Summary
For my project I spent the week of New Years,
December 26 through January 2, in Barcelona, Spain.
The focus of our trip was to familiarize ourselves
with the culture of Spain and its history. We explored
many museums and went on various tours around the
city, exposing ourselves to many styles of art.

Project Highlights
During our trip, we learned a lot about the history of
Barcelona. We learned many things while we were in
Barcelona but what I loved to learn about the most
was the many artists and architects that created
masterpieces around the city. One of the architects La Pedrera one of Gaudis creations, which he

By visiting Barcelona, my appreciation for artwork
and architecture has grown immensely. I have found
that the people of Barcelona are very cheerful as well
as creative. I feel that most of their happiness comes
from their ability to create, something that should be
applied in every culture.

From My Journal
When I walked up the stairs from the metro, I was
greeted by the sight of an nearly 560ft tall building. It
looked like a giant sea urchin, rising from the mud of
the ocean. The building was so unique but at the
same time breath taking.
La Sagrada Familia is one of the structures the
architect Gaudi, started. It is still under construction and
is supposed to reach up to 560ft into the sky once it is
finished. It was the most popular sight of our trip.
