ISLC Reflection
For this assignment I had to write an essay about the importance of
literature.We write essays in class to help us develop our writing skills. When
I first was told what the prompt was I thought it was going to be a bit difficult
to write about the topic because I didnt know much of what I was going to
write. My goal was to understand the meaning of literature and how it
impacts on our society.
Since I dont have a computer at home I had to decide on what day I was
going to go to the library to type my essay. The first thing I did when given
this assignment was brainstorm ideas to see what I would come up with. I
had think of what i already knew about the topic. I then researched about the
topic to see if I understood what i was going to write about. Once I
understood my prompt I started to write.
I learned from my essay that literature is what makes us civilized beings. I
learned about myself that if I try hard enough I can do a very good job at
writing essays. I liked how I started brainstorming for ideas so I could get a
idea of what I was going to write about. I need to improve on concentrating,
sometimes I tend to get distracted. Next time I write an essay I will take
notes about the prompt so that I know what im going to be writing. I felt
proud of myself when I finished writing my essay.
I communicated ideas by asking my classmates for tips. This experience
supported my vision because I learned something new that could be useful in
the future. I investigated the world by using the internet as a source. I know
it matters in todays society because literature is what makes us civilized
people. I took action by sharing my knowledge to others so that they could
value the significance of comunication.
