Introduction

Modern concrete mix designs can be complex. The choice of a concrete mix
depends on the need of the project both in terms of strength and appearance and in
relation to local legislation and building codes.

Concrete is a most widely used construction material. It is a mixture of cement,

aggregate, sand, and water or also with admixture. Concrete based on the 28 day
strength, is classified as high strength of the concrete. Admixtures are no substitute
for good concreting practice. An admixture should be employed only after an
appropriate evaluation of its effects on the performance of concrete under the
condition in which the concrete is intended to be used.

However, we tried to use ceramics tiles as admixture to examine the effect of it on

the concretes. Ceramic tile aggregates are hard having considerable value of
specific gravity, rough .Using ceramic tile aggregate in concrete not only it will be
cost effective, but also provide considerable strength to the concrete.

Objective

To determine the compressive strength of concrete using ceramic waste as

admixture to replace 10% of fine aggregate.

Calculation
Mass of sample = 8.3kg

Area of sample = 150 x 150 = 2500mm2

Volume of sample = 0.15 x 0.15 x 0.15 = 0.003375m 3

Density of sample = 2459 kg/m3
