Listing the details of the objectives in the order I'd planned them in; I'd also planned to
throw in some sidequests in between, of course. Things to do while Oronis searches for
the next component.

Spoiler: Crashed Githyanki Ship

Hide
Through intensive divination magic, Oronis has found a quantity of adamantium ore,
sizable enough to fulfill the material component of the spell he is crafting. The party is
dispatched to a strange metal ship crashed in the mountains south of Tyr. The ship was
used by the Githyanki, the ancestors of the Gith known in Athas today, to breach The Gray
and reach Athas from the Astral Plane. Many of the ship's defenses lie ruined, but some
psionic implements still function, and act to deter intruders. In addition, they are not the
only group seeking to loot the ship, and they must content with a mercenary band under
the employ of one of the merchant houses.

Spoiler: Tyr
Hide
With the adamantium ore obtained, the party returns to Oronis, only to find that it is too
impure to be of use in the ritual. They must venture to Tyr and locate a smith capable of
smelting the adamantium into a block of refined metal, removing the impurities.

Spoiler: Balic
Hide
Next on the list of components is the core of a powerful elemental. One such core, it
seems has come into the possession of House Rees, a prominent merchant house in
Balic. The party must plan and stage a heist to steal the Elder Earth Elemental Core
before it is transported elsewhere or stolen by another with similar designs.

Spoiler: Dromite Hive

Hide
The Dromite were not a playable race, because I planned for them to be hidden beneath
the Crimson Savanna. Oronis needs an artifact of significant psionic power, and has
pinpointed an area where such a powerful psionic signature is detected. The party must
find the hidden portal to the underground Dromite hive and somehow obtain the artifact
there. Unfortunately it is a key component in the ritual to create a Dromite Queen and her
Consort, and without it they would go extinct. The party must find some way to get the
artifact for Oronis.

Spoiler: Sarangar (Optional)

Hide
Should the party have a Templar among is number, Oronis informs them that the ritual will
prevent him from granting them his power unless measures are taken to solve the
problem. He recalls Sarangar from his time as the Lizardman Executioner, and suspects it
may be one of the last places to find a Guardian, obsidian orbs once used as servants in
the Green Age. They contain the psionically imprisoned souls of criminals. He requires an
empty one to store some of his power in, which the Templar can use to maintain their
powers after the ritual.

This quest is pointless and can be skipped if the party contains no Templars.

Spoiler: Gulg (Potentially Optional)

Hide
The last thing Oronis needs to complete his ritual is possibly the most difficult to obtains...
a second Avangion. The only wizards with enough power to undergo the transformation
are the greatest of defilers, the sorcerer-kings themselves; and so Oronis must somehow
convert one to his cause. Through observing them he has found potential in Lalali-Puy's
desire to restore Athas, even if the desire is selfish at heart. The party must find a way to
meet with the sorcerer-king of Gulg and convince her to seek a preserver Conversion
spell, through which she may become an Avangion instead of a Dragon.

Should the party have a Wizard, he or she may instead quest to become an Avangion
themselves.

The details of an Avangion transformation are detailed in this pdf, along with the prestige
class itself. The process of the Conversion spell will turn Lalali-Puy into a Stage I Avangion
on its own, bypassing the ritual, but setting her back slightly in power compared to her
status as a Stage III Dragon.

Spoiler: Rajaat's Pyramid

Hide
Finally, accompanied personally by Oronis and the new Avangion, the party must travel to
Rajaat's Swamp and locate the pyramid at its center. This powerful focus of arcane power
is required for Oronis to perform the ritual.

Here it is revealed that the ritual requires one Avangion to fuel it with their own font of life
force, after which the other must continue the ritual in their place. Even with the infinitely
renewable life force produced by an Avangion, using it all at once like this will destroy
them. Being the most powerful Avangion in existence, Oronis' life force must be the one to
fuel the spell. This is why he needed to store a piece of his power in the Guardian, so that
it might sustain his Templar's bond to the powers he granted.

The purpose of the ritual is also revealed: to send the party, and the second Avangion,
back in time, to the moment before Rajaat's conception of arcane magic, the moment
before Athas took its first steps towards inevitable doom. There they would face Rajaat
and his halfling followers before his ascension, and prevent Athas from being brought to
ruin in the first place. Instead the party arrives just after the invention of arcane magic, the
unstable mutating effects of the swamp active during the battle.

Should the party succeed, they will find themselves back in the Green Age, in the time
before magic.
