However, | am not Janine’s direct supervisor. Janine came to work on our telemetry unit in April of 2014. She has done an exceptional job in leaming the role of the RN on this busy, challenging unit. The patient turnover is high due to the nature ofthe unit and the continuous flow with patient admissions and discharges. Managing this patient flow takes the skil set of multitasking, quick and efficient assessment skills and the skill of prioritization. Janine is able to accomplish this very efficiently and with the ability to keep patients as ease. She demonstrates confidence, compassion and knowiedge as she delivers care to her patients. One of her greatest strengths isthe ability to never appear flustered or frustrated while providing care no matter the tasks and challenges ofthe day. As a result of Janine’s skill set, she was quickly recognized as a leader and moved the charge RN role on the floor. She is efficient in assigning bed assignments and supporting staff through the patient throughput process. She has the ability tobe a resource to staff, as a mejoity of staff are new RN graduates and continue to manage the function of the Charge RIN role. Janine is a well-rounded, accomplished RN that is looking to expand her role ‘and her knowledge.
