Distance Vector Routing Protocol

Distance Vector Routing Protocol is known as one of the two major routing protocols for
communications methods that uses data packets sent over Internet Protocol. It also requires
routing hardware in order to report the distances of various nodes within a network or internet
protocol topology in order to determine the best and the most efficient routes for data packets.

Link State Routing Protocols

Link state routing protocols maintains the complete road map of the network in each router
running a link state routing protocol. Each router running a link state routing protocol
originates information about the router, its directly connected links. Link state routing will
always try to maintain full networks topology by updating itself whenever a change happens
in a network.

Hybrid Protocols

Hybrid Routing Protocols also known as Balanced Hybrid Routing (BHR). It is a network
routing protocol that combines distance vector routing protocol (DVRP) and also state
routing protocol (LSRP) features. Hybrid protocol is used to determine optimal network
destination routes and report network topology data modifications.
