SOURCE # 1
Citation: Anderson, Jenny. "Why Are Our Kids so Miserable?"
Quartz. Quartz, 21 Mar. 2016. Web.
16 Feb. 2017.

Summary: This story was about how kids our days are disconnected for the real world and how
they are depressed because they always go on their phone or electronic and they don't pay
attention to the real world. Some of the time college students and other students are so depressed
is

Assessment: How strong is this source? What evidence does it provide? Does it have a bias?
Who wrote the article and what is their background?

When kids get in the car their parents always just hand them electronics instead of asking them
about their day.

Reflection: How does this source help you answer the essential question, What is the truth of
happiness?

Evidence: Choose 2-4 key passages or quotes that you liked and might want to use in your
project or writing. Type them word for word, and note the page and paragraph.

SOURCE #2
Citation: Happy. Dir. Roko Belic. Perf. Anne Bechsgaard, Sonja Lyubomirsky, Ed Diener, The Dalai
Lama, Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, Daniel Gilbert, Matthieu Ricard, Read Montague, etc N.p., n.d. Web.
2011.

Summary: The main point in of this movie was show viewers about happiness. No matter how many
things you have or you dont have it is okay to be not happy or happy. The director want to hear different
perspectives of people's views on happiness and their different styles. There was one thing that was the
same but one that was different. The one thing that was the same is that everyone felt happy when they
went home to their families they were so happy and that is just like the real world they are happy to go see
their family. But the only thing that was different was that they said that when people have less/ poor they
are more happy but in the real world some people wish that they had a bigger family or a bigger house.
But people there they were happy no matter what had.

Assessment: I feel like this is a very good source because there is a lot of information in this movie and
there was plenty of connections that I made with it. Some of the connections of this movie were really
touching sometimes in life there is something to smile about and other times there isnt. Some of the time
people are happy and some are not. The author only did this because he wanted to connect to people
around the world and wanted to tell them about their personal view on how they think of being happy.

Reflection: I think the truth of happiness is showing happiness around the world. What it is, is basically
spreading happiness across the world and seeing the light and brightness that they bring to the world.
Some people in this world think that just taking drugs and drinking is what is going to make you happy.
The only way I feel like this is because my cousin took drugs to get happy, but it put her in the wrong
place and then kept doing it. Until someone got out to her.

Evidence: The one thing that caught my eye was that a lot of people were happy to go home and
see their family and friends. For me I feel the same way I am happy when I get to go home and
see my family and friends. Another thing that I really enjoined about

SOURCE #3 There is more to life than happiness

Citation:
Smith, Emily Esfahani. "Theres More to Life than Being Happy." N.p., n.d. Web.

Summary: This article is about there being more to life than happiness. What that means to me is that
there is more things in life to be happy about. When I was reading this it really hit me because some of the
quotes in there I disagree with and some of them I agree with them. One of the quotes in it says If
anything, pure happiness is linked to not helping others in need. I all the way disagree with this because
all people are different. For me I always like helping out others because they are all humans and should
feel special like other people around the world.

Assessment: This story was a very good but the author Emily was talking about how if you go to
camp you wont be so much suicidal and it is very relaxing sometimes for people. I know for me
when I go to camp I feel very relaxed and happy. From other peoples perspective there is more t
life than happiness but what is it.

Reflection: For this, this source it didnt really help me find what the truth of happiness actually
means to me. This source doesnt really have a meaning for me. For some reason this source was
really confusing because I dont know if they are saying that if you kill yourself that makes you
happy or not.

Evidence: It is the very pursuit of happiness that thwarts happiness. I feel like it is saying that
they are trying to find the pursuit of happiness and looking forward to finding it. Partly what we
do as human beings is to take care of others and contribute to others. This makes life
meaningful but it does not necessarily make us happy. For me it sounds like human are trying to
help other human. Or that there are more meaningful things to smile about.

SOURCE #4

Citation: Dallas, Kelsey. "6 Ways to Increase Your Happiness, from the 2015 World
Happiness Report." DeseretNews.com. Deseret News, 05 July 2015. Web. 22 Feb. 2017.

Summary: This article was telling the world about different ways to increase happiness. Here
are some of the different drivers they had to increase happiness money, food, finding optimism,
being social, and also being yourself. For me some of the drivers they had I agreed with, for
instance being social/ being with friends and enjoying my time with them really makes me be
happy.

Assessment: The lady that wrote this article really touched basics on different peoples
perspectives on how they feel happy and what makes them happy. It was a good story but didnt
bring the depth into happiness.

Reflection: This article brought me meaning to the truth of happiness. Which means that there
are not one but many ways to the truth of happiness. Some of the parts didnt really make sense I
didnt feel like they were making it bold.

Evidence:
"You have to open yourself up to new people and opportunities."
"Eating healthy affects a person's mood and energy levels."
100% true
SOURCE #5
Citation: Scribner, Herb. "5 Ways You Can Find Happiness through Family, Faith and
Friends."DeseretNews.com. Deseret News, 28 Mar. 2015. Web. 24 Feb. 2017.

Summary: This article was about being with your friends makes you happy and doesnt make
you depressed and sad. Around the world they are getting different peoples perspectives. They
raised enough money to test different peoples perspectives and see if they are more happy being
with friends or not being with friends.

Assessment: I feel like this person made a strong story to tell about how being with your friends
makes you more happy.

Reflection: I completely agree with this story because when I am with my friends it rises my
happiness from where it was to the very top. Not only being with my friends makes me happy
but them always making me laugh when I need it. This is one place that I get my happiness, is
my friends.

Evidence: Whatever the environment is generally speaking, it's a better

environment if its enriched, and plants are a very cost-effective way of
enriching your space.
"The relationship between wellbeing and income does not diminish
as incomes rise. If there is a satiation point, we are yet to reach it.
