Module Six Response Paper

The essay that I chose to write my essay was The Hedonic Treadmill If Only

Happiness Were as Easy as Marriage, a Big House, and Kids by Amit Amin. I selected this

essay, because the topic is interesting. In addition, the examples the author give us are

astonish and very clear. The reasons of the author are that people are adaptable do not matter

if they lost their dreams. They can overcome their obstacles and they can continue to fight for

other dreams. In the article, he mentioned a player that had an accident and as result of the

accident the man will be paralytic. Then, their dreams to play again are felled. Although, he

cannot keep with his dream, their dreams can change. This is a clear example which the

humans are adaptable without does matter the circumstances. Also, the author comments us

that the humans are not the conformists; they always want to overcome financially, physically

and educationally. Definitely, those stuffs do that people have the ambitious to work in order

to reach the happiness. Besides, the author give some examples about the people were a

wrong idea to become happy. One of them is the people normally know or think that if they

have a good physique or looks handsome, this way they will be happy. In other hand, the

people who desire the money, they believe that the money is the solution of this problems and

it will become happy people. Finally, Education and the achievement of higher education

increase the probability of one being happy. In contrary, a studied showed that people with

lower levels of education are the happiest. In other words, the happiness can be easier than

you ever imagined with many of the activities you ignore. For these reasons I would choice

this article in order to write my essay.
