Course Outline / Methodology

I. Method of Instruction
The Socratic method of instruction will be used; that is, recitation-lecture
method. Each meeting, the students will be called for a graded
recitation within the assigned topic and the professor shall amplify /
supplement what has been recited by the students. Quizzes shall also be
given.

Cases assigned all cases assigned must be read in the original (not the summary /
digest) and the students called to recite are expected to explain and recite the same.

II. Prescribed Book and Materials


a. Book The students may use any book on the Law on Sales. The
professor will use that authored by Dean Cesar Villanueva
b. Cases Copies of cases in their original may be downloaded from
www.lawphil.net and www.sc.judiciary.gov.ph

III. Assessment and Grading System The system for assessment and grading
shall follow the criteria and computation prescribed by the CBEA, that is,
1/3 from the Midterm Grade and 2/3 from the Final Grade. The Midterm
Grade is derived from 1/3 from the Preliminary Grade and 2/3 from the
Midterm Grade. The Final Grade is composed of 1/3 from the Semi-Final
Grade and 2/3 from the Final Grade. In each case, the following criteria
shall be followed:

a. Oral and Written Quizzes 40%


b. Class Standing (Attendance, reports, assignments) 10%
c. Major Examinations 50%
