INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS

According to Encyclopaedia Britannica, an international organization is an

institution drawing membership from at least three states, having activities in
several states, and whose members are held together by a formal agreement. The
Union of International Associations, a coordinating body, differentiates between the
more than 250 international governmental organizations (IGOs), which have been
established by intergovernmental agreements and whose members are states, and
the approximately 6,000 nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), whose members
are associations or individuals. https://www.britannica.com/topic/international-organization, 08-09-2016

Wikipedia states an international organization is an organization with an

international membership, scope, or presence. There are two main types:
International nongovernmental organizations (INGOs): non-governmental
organizations (NGOs) that operate internationally.
