If you are someone who has read The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra

Clare, then you may enjoy the prequel series, The Infernal Devices. This series is set in

London, 1878 -- over a century before the events of The Mortal Instruments. The story

focuses on Theresa Tessa Gray, a 16 year old girl from New York. In the beginning of

the story, her aunt had just died and her brother had sent her a ticket to come live with

him in London. When Tessa arrived, she was met by the two Dark sisters, who claimed

to be her brothers landladies. From there on, events took a dark turn in Tessas life.

The Dark sisters had a purpose for her -- they kept telling her to change, but Tessa did

not understand what they were talking about. As it turns out, Tessa has an unknown

ability. She can Change into anyone and be able to access their mind as if she were

that person. Tessa escaped from the Dark sisters when some Shadowhunters

discovered her there when they came to investigate some demon killings. Tessa was

aided by the Shadowhunters and continued to stick with them throughout the books.

These books are about love, loss, and hope. Each and every main character will

give their life for one another, because they are a family. There are a lot of plot twists,

some of which seemed completely unexpected. If you are a fan of the Shadowhunters

then you will really enjoy this series.
