    APPARATUS AND MATERIAL

    Apparatus: Materials:
    liquid-liquid extraction column NaOH solution (0.1M and
    0.025M)
    water pump distillates product solution
    separator funnel reffinate product solution
    burette feed solution
    conical flask propionic acid
    beaker
    measuring cylinder

    PROCEDURE
    1. Make sure valve V6 and V11 are closed.
    2. Switch on valve S1, C3 and S3.
    3. Adjust feed flow rate (C1) until maximum.
    4. Switch on S4.
    5. When the water reach the top column, set C1 to 300 cc/min.
    6. Wait for 20 min.
    7. Take 100mL sample from refinate, feed and extract.
    8. Take 100mL from each sample and add 3 drop of phenolpthalein.
    9. Titrate each sample with 0.1M NaOH.
    10. Repeat step 1 and 2 with 0.025M NaOH.
    11. Titrate twice foe each moles of NaOH.
