Group #4

Topic: Endocrine System

Your team must find information about the following topics related to the digestive system in the animal kingdom. This
project will count as a quiz grade for you and the members of your group. You must be present for the presentation to
receive full credit for the project so make sure that you sign up for a presentation day when you will be in class.

What is the main purpose of the assigned system?

This system is all about homeostasis. How is homeostasis involved with the following organs and
hormones?
o Parathyroid: Parathyroid hormone and its role in the balance of Calcium
o How is the Pineal gland involved in biorhythms.
o What is the relationship between the hypothalamus and the pituitary gland, especially as it
relates to reproduction and endorphins.
How is transport involved in this system? Passive, Active, Signal transduction?
How is the endocrine system related to the circulatory system?

Presentation Requirements:

You must provide a power point presentation with the material

You must include in this presentation helpful diagrams of the various systems
You must provide a hand out for the members of the class that summarizes your information. Upload
this to Google Classroom in the following format: "Group number, period number, last name 1, last
name 2, etc."
Remember to site all of your resources at the end of your Power Point.
You are also welcome to use any website during your presentation.
The presentation should be no longer than 15 minutes.
Present a video you made about your organ system. You may utilize Youtube, powtoon, etc. Be
creative! This is your midterm project. Make sure your video is informative and that a person will be
able to learn about your organ system from watching your video.
