Lindsay has been student teaching within my Learning Support classroom for seven weeks, She has had the opportunity to teach reading and English within a small group setting in the Learning Support program. She has also taught reading and English within a co-teaching classroom in the special education setting. Ms. Smith has proven to be a well-rounded, competent teacher. She is always well-prepared, organized, punctual, and professional in all of her teaching and classroom endeavors. Lindsay is able to manage the classroom with appropriate classroom management techniques, structured procedures, and effective teaching techniques. She displays extensive knowledge of the content and designs well organized and logically sequenced lessons which she executes effectively. Ms. Smith has incorporated technology into a number of lessons to enhance the learning of her students. She has students actively involved in the leaming process. Lindsay has utilized a variety of teaching strategies to address the individual needs of her students and has made adaptations and ‘accommodations in order for them to be successful. Lindsay has employed appropriate prompting strategies and also has provided high rates of positive reinforcement. Her use of consistent, firm, yet caring discipline shows her respect for each child's feelings and self-esteem. Lindsay has developed a great rapport with the students and staff members. She has demonstrated ‘excellent classroom management skills, a real commitment to teaching, and a very professional appearance.
