Fly ash is a waste produced by thermal power plants that poses environmental concerns. This study investigates using fly ash as a partial replacement for cement in concrete, which would provide an environmentally friendly way to dispose of and reuse fly ash. Concrete mixes were tested with cement replaced by fly ash at 20%, 30%, and 40% levels. The effects on compressive strength and workability were examined to see if concrete with fly ash could achieve the target grade of M20.

Fly ash, a waste generated by thermal power plants
is a such a big environmental concern. The investigation reported in this project is carried out to study the utilization of fly ash in cement concrete as a partial replacement of cement as well as an additive so as to provide an environmentally consistent way of its disposal and reuse. To study the effect of partial replacement of cement by fly ash, studies have been conducted on concrete mixes with cementitiuos material at 20%, 30%, 40% replacement levels. In this report the effect of fly ash on compressive, workability are done. Based on mix of Grade M20 with different percentage of fly ash can be directly used.
