I am pleased to present my resume to you for your consideration for a position in

your school district. I would love an opportunity to be a part of this districts
community. I am confident that I have the experience, drive, energy, knowledge,
and dedication to be a valuable member of this learning community.

I am certified in Elementary Education in grades kindergarten through fifth grade

and will be certified in Language Arts in sixth through eighth before the 2017-2018
school year.I received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Michigan State University in
May of 2016 in Education with a major in Language Arts and a minor in Spanish.
Michigan State University has a highly ranked education program that sets its
future teachers apart from others. In April of 2017 I will have completed a year-long
internship that provided me with my teaching certification as well as 12 graduate
level courses in teaching.

I was fortunate to complete my fifth year internship with Michigan State University
at Buchanan Elementary School in Grand Rapids Public Schools during the 2016-
2017 school year. Buchanan is a school in a low-income and high-needs
neighborhood. Here I worked in a kindergarten classroom with a highly experienced
mentor teacher. With her guidance I gained experience in classroom management,
strategies for working with diverse learners, professional experience as a staff
member and contributor to a grade level team, as well as so much more. During my
experience here, I planned and taught lessons that catered to a group of 24 diverse
language learners. These lessons took into account the individual needs of the
students as well as the needs for the classroom. They include the Common Core
State Standards and the schools curriculum to cater to the language, academic and
emotional needs of the students.

I believe that not only do my education and experience qualify me for a position in
your school district, but my motivation to help students in being the best learners
they can be and become lifelong learners about the world around them. My hope is
that you will take these aspects into consideration and grant me with an interview
so I can reveal more of my abilities that deem me capable of being a worthy
member of your school districts team.
