Exploring Mexico Study Abroad

Project Summary
The project I completed allowed me to travel to
Mexico and educate myself on the culture and the
history of San Jose del Cabo. While there, I travelled
through San Jose del Cabo, Cabo San Lucas, and
throughout various pueblos. Although I was not alone
on this trip, it was still challenging for me to learn
how to navigate throughout an unknown area to
myself. I learned a lot about the Mexican culture and
feel a better understanding more so today.

Project Highlights
One moment I wish to highlight during my trip was
when I travelled alone into the pueblos. My father
who accompanied me on this trip wished to stay in
town, so I took the opportunity to travel into the This is me with Maro, the owner of Maros Shrimp house
pueblos. Given that I had just learned how to drive down in the Pueblos. Maro is a huge fan of American
our manual transmission rental car, it was a bigger College sports, as his restaurant is filled with
challenge than I expected. While going through an memorabilia.
intersection, I was rear-ended by a local. Thankfully,
I was proficient enough in Spanish to inform the
driver that there appeared to be no damages to either
vehicle and that all was A-Okay. I thankfully was not
harmed from the accident as well.

From My Journal
I can see now why people enjoy travelling. It isnt
so much the sightseeing and adventuring, but the
experience gained and the friendships made.

This is a picture from the Pueblos, just north of Cabo

San Lucas, after this road, all the roads were dirt, not
paved. What surprised me was how the houses were
practically on top of eachother.
