March 9, 2017 RE: Payton Ball To Whom It May Concern Payton Ball recently completed a seven week student teaching assignment in my first grade classroom at Oak Park Elementary in Des Moines, lowa. Her friendliness with students, staff, and parents was a welcome addition to our building. During this assignment, Miss Ball successfully taught all subject areas including guided reading groups. She followed district pacing guides to help plan very detailed lessons. Miss Ball was always prepared and used a variety of materials to present excellent lessons. She showed initiative and spent time outside the school day finding extra materials to make sure her lessons were meeting the needs of all students. Miss Ball also showed strong classroom management skills. Her calm and consistent manner was helpful in dealing with student behavior issues.
