Dear First Grade Families,

As the beginning of New Year gets underway,

I would like to start off by introducing myself.
My name is Miss Ball, and I will be a student teacher in your son/
daughters first grade classroom. I was born and raised in the small town
of Glidden, Iowa. I graduated high school in the spring of 2012 and began
attending Drake University in the fall of 2012. This opportunity is the last
step I will take before receiving my bachelors degree in elementary
education with endorsements in reading and special education.
Throughout the last five years, I have had a wide variety of experiences
that have helped me prepare for this. I have worked as a multiage
assistant teacher at a childcare center, tutored literacy, and worked at
an after school program for an elementary school. I have had several
experiences within different grade levels in classrooms, ranging from a
2nd grade literacy class to a 6th grade science class. I feel prepared and
ready to take on this journey.
Im very excited to be here at Oak Park. I will be in the classroom working
with Mrs. Joens from the middle of January to the middle of March. Im
looking forward to getting to know you and your child in the upcoming
weeks. We will have many wonderful experiences and opportunities to
learn and grow in the days ahead.
Please feel free to contact me at anytime with any questions or concerns.
You can contact me by email at payton.ball@drake.edu.
Sincerely,
Miss Payton Ball
