Class!
Hello loved ones of my 2022-2023 Kindergartners!

My name is Autumn Rendall, and I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year. I'm
looking forward to getting to know you all very soon, and for now, here's a little bit about
myself. This is my first year as a certified teacher, but I did my student teaching year in this
school and I could not ask for a better place to teach. In May 2022, I earned my M.Ed. in
Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Houston, and in March 2020 I received
my B.A. in journalism also from UH. Go Coogs!

I got into teaching to help jumpstart children's lifelong love of learning. Knowledge and
inquiry are so powerful, and when we give our students a safe, positive environment to
express their ideas, ask questions, and actively investigate concepts we are setting them up
for a lifetime of success.

This year in our ELA and Social Studies classroom, students will grow strong foundational
knowledge and skills they will continue building on for the rest of their education. Across
the year they'll work on key literacy skills, understanding their roles as good citizens,
exploring rich and interesting stories and history, and growing their relationships with their
world, selves, and peers.

I believe that we are all on a team to support your child's growth as a lifelong learner, and I
value your involvement in their education. I would love to get to know you all further as we
start this year together, so whenever possible I would love to set up a Zoom meeting with
each of you to officially introduce myself. In the meanwhile, thank you all so much for a
great start to the year, and I hope to see you all soon!
