Internet Radio

We have chosen Internet Radio because it can reach a wider

audience as the reach of FM broadcasting does not restrict it.
Live Internet radio stations must have a PPL and PRS license to
broadcast music.
A PPL license costs 211 (plus VAT) for the 2017 licence year.

Stations with a Small Webcaster must submit a report outlining the total
amount of time the station is listened to and the average number of tracks
played every three months to PPL.
PPL may sometimes request a detailed list of all songs played each day
and the countries that have accessed the stream (a Programme Report).
The license restricts:
o Programmes being repeated within two hours.
o Songs cannot be pre-promoted (announced before they are played).
o No more than 4 songs by one artist can be played within an hour.
o No more than 3 in a row by one artist or from one album.

A PRS LOML (Limited Online Music Licence) costs 133 + VAT per year.

PRS requires that one must submit tracks that are played on a Usage
Declaration Form once per year. Revenue must also be declared and the
number of streams delivered.
PRS may audit stations once per year to view their documentation on
music and revenue.
