This serves as a letter of recommendation for Cassidy Kelly. I have been her
senior project mentor as she is serving as co-director of the spring dance
concert, Kaleidoscope. Though the production portion of the project has
really just begun, Cassi will be present through all auditions, including all
lunches, running sound, offering input, acting as a runner, and a general
assistant in the project.

At the end of audition week Cassi will stay after school with me and the
arduous task of casting will begin. With 300 dancers, and about 95 pieces to
audition, we will need to score pieces and then reduce and reduce until we
are down to about a 2 hour running time including intermission as well as
30 minutes of faculty pieces. Included in this process is the difficult task of
avoiding back to back programming while also offering the audience a
pleasing variety of pieces, ie jazz followed by ballet, followed by a modern
piece, as well as a large class piece followed by small group pieces followed
by solos or duets, etc.

Cassi will then be responsible for typing up the show order, all program copy,
liaising with graphic department in poster design, communicating with the
printer, and coordinating activities the week of tech.

Cassi has been in communication with me continually about where we are in

the process, about what she can be doing (as the audition process has yet to
begin) and I am grateful to have such a responsible and mature co-director.

I am pleased to write this letter of recommendation for her and I know that
this project will hold her in good stead as she goes forward as a dance major
next year.
