Purpose and Goal of the event

- To help the people who are in need of food especially during this winter and
after the winter storm that is occurring
- Raise awareness of Daily Bread and all the good it does in our city
- Fight hunger and help an organization do more
- I hope that through this fair I will be able to help many people on the streets
and otherwise have a full stomach through the last leg of this winter
- I want to raise awareness of Daily Bread and many organizations like it and
how they can be helped
- Tell people exactly what kind of food produce and items the hungry need
rather than overstock on what they believe the hungry need
- Show people the kind of support needed to continue to run these kinds of
programs
- Show the state of the homeless in Toronto and the GTA

and the up coming events.
Communication:

I will communicate these facts and more by contacting Daily Breads director of
Agency Relations Charles Jergl and ask him to come down to our Fair and discuss
what Daily bread is all about, by bringing a representative to our Fair I hope to close
the gap between organization and donator and help people realize that this isnt
some big corporation rather regular people looking to do good in the community.
Event Description
The event itself will be held at Masjid Usman on Brock Road, Pickering, ON. The
Masjid and its Association will hold the event free of charge as it is a Fair for charity,
I must contact the President of the Pickering Islamic Centre M. Ehtesham Rahm to
reserve the Masjid during St. Patricks Day. The Masjid has extensive grounds on the
east and south side of the building as well as 2 separate parking lots capable of
holding over 100 cars together on the west side. On the east side grounds, I will add
the bouncing castle and other kids attractions to get the attention of those driving
on Brock road and on the south side of the building I will have an outdoor assembly
area where the Daily Bread representative and a Pickering Islamic Centre
representative will speak. On the south side is also where a raffle and a fundraising
event will be held. Inside the actual Masjid will be a sitting area and in the lobby of
the building will be where people can purchase food.
The event will happen on St. Patricks Day on March 17 th and will be held from 10
am to 4:30 pm. The reason I chose to make it start so late and end at 4:30 is
because this is the time where everyone will be have nothing to do and just be
waiting for night time to come so they can party.

Event Format
The Fair will include a childrens play area where they will need tickets (purchasable
by adults) to allow them on the bouncing castles and other attractions, on the south
side the Fair will include an assembly area where most of the speaking will happen
as well as the fundraiser speech that will take place, inside the Masjid, inside the
building the food and a resting area will be there.
Target Audience
The target audience will be more along the lines of older adults 30+ and parents
with kids who want to appease their kids with attractions and educate them on the
less advantaged. I want older Adults because they generally have more lived
experience and can understand the need to help the community and because they
generally are in a more financially stable place in life.
Promotion and Advertising
I will be creating a Facebook page to help advertise the event as well as contacting
Daily Bread to have them add it in their event calendar, I will also be adding flyers
to Afghan Kebab and Shawarma because they will be sponsoring us with
Shawarmas at the event and will place flyers around the Masjid and at grocery
stores, and sports bars. I will be creating a Facebook page because most of the
people in their 30s and above grew up with Facebook now that AOL and Myspace is
dead all thats left is Facebook. Because Afghan Kebab and Shawarma is sponsoring
us there is a chance many of their clients will be interested in seeing what this
event is all about. Placing flyers in the Masjid will promote the Masjids name as well
as interest people who visit the masjid to come and bring their kids to this event.
Grocery stores are a great place to target older adults who are shopping and sports
bars are where a lot of older men and women go when they are done with their late-
night partying days.
