media.Theactofobtainingtheimageofanobjectistermedprojection.Theimageobtainedby
projectionisknownasaview.Asimpleprojectionsystemisshowninfigure1.

Allprojectiontheoryarebasedontwovariables:

Lineofsight
Planeofprojection.

PlaneofProjection

Aplaneofprojection(i.e,animageorpictureplane)isanimaginaryflatplaneuponwhichtheimage
createdbythelineofsightisprojected.Theimageisproducedbyconnectingthepointswherethe
lines of sight pierce the projection plane. In effect, 3D object is transformed into a 2D
representation,alsocalledprojections.Thepaperorcomputerscreenonwhichadrawingiscreated
isaplaneofprojection.
