Interaction Worksheet

The purpose of this worksheet is to help you think through the interactions
associated with one blended learning module (i.e., a unit of instruction
presented online that covers a single subject or topic). This worksheet helps
you to determine:

The performance objectives associated with the module.

The activities you will incorporate into the module to help students achieve
those objectives.
The types of interactions in which students will engage as part of the
module.

1. Which module would you like to develop first?

I would like to develop Module 1, which includes weeks 1-3 and involves
the planning and writing of the first major essay.

2. What are the objectives, based on Blooms taxonomy, for this

module?

1. Identify key arguments and ideas presented by an author

2. Draw original conclusions based on textual analysis
3. Explain and support original claims using textual evidence
4. Critically evaluate peer work according to a set of criteria

3. What activities will students complete in this module? Will any
require special instructions/tutorials?

Students will read a short non-fiction text, take active-reading notes in

a journal, compose a rough draft, peer review classmates work, and
revise their own essays based on feedback. They will also have an
ongoing discussion about ideas and challenges in the online discussion
forum.

The active-reading journal and peer review will require detailed

instructions, which will be delivered in class and reiterated online.

4. What materials will you use in this module (textbook,

instructor notes, links to websites, images, audio, video,
newspapers, journals, ePack resources, etc.)?

Course textbook (New Humanities Reader), Active reading journal model.

5. What types of interaction will students experience in this

module?

In-class discussion will take place with the whole group, which will be capped
at 25 students. Online discussion, which is informal, will also be whole-group.
Peer review will take place in groups of 3, so that students all read and
review 2 papers and can debrief as a small group afterward.

that you feel would work better to support your planned
interaction? If so, which outside tools do you also plan to
incorporate into your course?

I plan to also use Turnitin to check for plagiarism.
