1. General
This document describes the procedure to implement the RMC functionality into a
standard 800xA system.
The method to implement the SMS rolling mill functionality is described.

3. Installation procedure

3.1 Install the 800xA System software

The RMC standard requires that the 800xA System 4.0 product or later is installed. For
installation instructions see document TAP80128, Installation Instructions, Windows 2003
Server, Windows XP Professional, Domain setup and 800xA System.
This installation description gives the exact installation procedure and the requirements
regarding which software versions and optional service packs that need to be installed
prior to installation of RMC software and SMS rolling mill software.

3.2 Install RMC functionality in Aspect server ABB-ASPECT-FM
This chapter describes the procedure to install the files delivered with on the RMC 800xA
System Installation Software CD.
1. Install rdCtl2 by executing the setup.exe file in the folder \RMC SW to be loaded
into Aspect servers\rdCtl2 on the Aspect server.
2. Install rspCtl with PP Alarm by executing the setup.exe file in the folder \RMC SW
to be loaded into Aspect servers\ rspCtl with PP Alarm on the Aspect server.
3. Install rspCtl2c by executing the setup.exe file in the folder \RMC SW to be loaded
into Aspect servers\ rspCtl2c on the Aspect server.
4. Install Package Graphics by executing the setup.exe file in the folder \RMC SW to
be loaded into Aspect servers\ Package Graphics on the Aspect server.
5. Install rdGrpGRDrive2 by executing the setup.exe file in the folder \RMC SW to be
loaded into Aspect servers\ rdGrpGRDrive2 on the Aspect server.
6. Use the Import/Export tool to import the .afw files in the \RMC SW to be loaded
into Aspect servers\ System Configuration folder to the Aspect Server with the
Import/Export tool. The order in which the files should be imported is shown by the
numerical prefix used in the file name. Import the files in numerical order starting
with the file 01afw.

Comments on some of the afw files:

a. The 50 PROF Application Bar Shortcuts.afw must be placed on the
Workplace object you intend to use. (Might not end up on the wanted
Workplace when imported so a manual move could be needed.
b. The 50 PROF Display Menu.afw file creates a Web Behavior Tool aspect
in the Library Structure on the Tools/Screenbar Tools object.
c. The 50 PROF Display Toolbar.afw file creates a Tool Collection on the
Web System Workplace object in the Workplace Structure. The Application
Bar aspect of the used Workplace object must be edited to include this tool
collection once the import has been done.
7. Set the security settings of Internet Explorer to accept unsigned components (Set
temporarily to LOW) and install rspDisplayMenu by opening the
rspDisplayMenu.htm file in the folder \Graphic\Primitives\rspDisplayMenu. Answer
Yes if you get a question whether to install the ActiveX or not.
8. Use the Import/Export tool to import the .afw files in the \RMC SW to be loaded
into Aspect servers \Graphic Elements \AC400 folder to the Aspect Server.
9. Use the Import/Export tool to import the .afw file in the \RMC SW to be loaded into
Aspect servers \Graphic Elements \Generic folder to the Aspect Server.
10. Use the Import/Export tool to import the graphical displays from a system backup
to the Aspect Server. The graphical displays can be available in the last application
backup (also called PPA backup) that is available.
11. Open the Plant Explorer\ Object Type Structure\

3.3 Install RMC functionality to all other servers than Aspect server and to all Client PC,s
This chapter describes the procedure to install the files with RMC functionality to all other
servers than Aspect server and to all Client PC,s delivered with on the RMC 800xA
System Installation Software CD.
1. Install rdCtl2 by executing the setup.exe file in the folder \Graphic Primitives\rdCtl2
on all other servers than Aspect server and to Client PC,s.
2. Install rspCtl by executing the setup.exe file in the folder \Graphic Primitives\rspCtl
on all other servers than Aspect server and to Client PC,s.
3. Set the security settings of Internet Explorer to accept unsigned components (Set
temporarily to LOW) and install rspDisplayMenu by opening the
rspDisplayMenu.htm file in the folder \Graphic\Primitives\rspDisplayMenu. Answer
Yes if you get a question whether to install the ActiveX or not. Repeat for all other
servers than Aspect server and to Client PC,s .

3.4 Install SMS rolling mill functionality in 800xA System

Installation of PROPC software is described in document xxxxx.

3.4.1 Install SMS rolling mill functionality in ABB-ASPECT-FM

The ABB-ASPECT-FM is the server in the PROPC description. Install the PROPC
software in the ABB-ASPECT-FM as described for a Server in document User Manual,
Installation PROPC, Version Eng.:1.0-000.

3.4.2 Install SMS rolling mill functionality in all other HMI than ABB-ASPECT-FM
PROPC software is installed in all ABB PCs except ABB-ASPECT-FM and ABB-
DONMAIN-ABB as client. Install the PROPC software in these PCs as described for a
Client in document User Manual, Installation PROPC, Version Eng.:1.0-000.
