Compare and Contrast Essay

Throughout this essay, it is imperative that students remember that this essay
is based off their experience understanding the two types of poetry. Pivotal
aspects should be stressed on the students experience making connections
between the classic style of poetry and modern day music.

What the essay should consist of:

Identification on a significant theme that both the Classic poem and song lyric
share.
Compare and contrast two perspectives on the theme the student has identified;
Elaborate how the two artists implement literary techniques, including literary
elements and poetic devices to elaborate on their perspectives as a whole.
Draw a conclusion explaining the experience on grappling with these two lyrical
pieces; also, elaborate on what was gained after writing this essay.

*The poem that the student constructed should facilitate a significant amount of the
body paragraphs.
