4/19: Coffee with the Principal
Please join us on Wednesday, April 19th at 6:00 PM in the Wilson HS Media Center.
Topic: Getting Ready for College: What 9th, 10th, and 11th Graders Should be Doing Now.
Arun Ponnusamy, Head Counselor and Vice President of Collegewise, will be discussing what students and parents should be
doing this spring and summer to prepare for the college admissions process. The conversation will include detailed advice on
course selection, standardized testing, summer break plans, and affording college.

New AP Statistics Textbook

A new AP Statistics textbook is on display in the Principals Office for review and comment. The book will be on display from
now through Friday April 14 before being considered for adoption by the Board of Education. Interested parents are
welcome to stop by to review the textbook.

HLPUSD Summer School

The initial summer school list is posted at each high school. Late registration for summer school is available, depending on
the availability of open seats. At this time, LATE summer school applications can be submitted for open classes only.

Parents of current 9th -11th grade students can confirm their students course SAT & SAT Subject
selection for 2017-2018. Course requests can be viewed in AERIES. www.sat.org

Seniors are encouraged to check the Scholarship section under the Wilson
Guidance website for scholarship opportunities. Several local scholarships June 3 May 9 May 24
grant a scholarship to a Wilson senior each year.

AERIES Parent Portal http://www.actstudent.org/
AERIES is an online gradebook system, and both parents and students have 2017 Test Registration Late*
separate accounts to log in to see students grades, attendance and Dates Deadline Deadline
teacher contact information. If you have not yet activated an account, June 10 May 5 May 19
please contact your students counselor for account setup information.

Fee waivers for ACT/SAT are available, if
student is eligible for free/reduced lunch.
Tuesday Frosh Tutoring Available upon request at Guidance Office.
Link Crew offers Tuesday tutoring to all freshmen in need of academic support
or a quiet place to study. Tutoring in core academic subjects (English, math,
biology, history and foreign languages) is offered. Light snacks provided.
When: Every Tuesday 3:15PM 4:30PM
Where: Room B8 (Mrs. Tays classroom)
