Discipline Strategies/Rules and Consequences

Discipline is the systematic way of teaching students how to act and

treat others. You use the rules and procedures to base the expectations of

your students. I think discipline is necessary in a classroom if a student is

disobeying or treating others with disrespect there needs to be

repercussions. Everyone in a classroom should be treated fairly, if two

students are both disrespectful they should both get the same discipline. I

want to incorporate respect in my classroom. And the way to get respect, is

by being a role model and practicing respect to my students. I will never

embarrass my students in front of their peers if I have a problem I would

rather bring them outside of the classroom and speak to the student one on

one.

Strategies for teaching Responsible Behavior:

Model skills in planning and organizing

Model respect
Establish consequences that teach better behavior
Speak calmly and politely
Address students privately
Practice Fairness

Always explain classroom procedures clearly.

Define the procedures, that will not change throughout the year.
Demonstrate the procedures.

Rehearse procedures.
Have students continue to practice the procedures every day.

Give feedback.
Praise the students when they do the right thing.
Don't put down the student when they make a mistake.
I will always push the students to become better every day. With

procedures and rules in place it will allow for my students to become

that better person. I want to create a safe place for my students. I will

be a model for my students, this is the best way to teach students the

rules and how to teach one another.

Rules to Follow:

Be on time and prepared for class.

Respect the teacher, the classroom, and other classmates.
Be prepared to learn every day.
Keep all personal electronics away.
Be responsible for your own learning.
Throw away all trash in the trashcan.
