You are going to see images of five cities and their landmarks. Write a
paragraph describing each city and country it belongs and the landmark shown.
Use the vocabulary from the box for the descriptions. The first one is done for
you as an example. / A continuacin ver imgenes de cinco ciudades y sus
lugares representativos. Escriba un prrafo describiendo cada ciudad, el pas al
que pertenece y el lugar mostrado. Use el vocabulario dentro del recuadro para

New York is a big city in the

United States (North
America). It takes thousand of
visitors every year. The city
has a population of around 8
million people. There is a lot
to see and do in New York.
You can visit the Central Park,
the Metropolian museum and
Times Square. In the picture
you can see the Statue of
Liberty, a monumet built
between 1875 and 1986. It is
93 meters tall. The statue is

located on Liberty Island in
the Hudson River.
 St. Peters Square is a large
plaza located directly in front of
St. Peters Basilica in the Vatican
City, the papal enclave inside
Rome, diretl west of the
neighbourhood or rione of
Borgo.

At the centre of the square is an

Egyptain obelisk, erected at the
current site in 1586.

The Sydney Opera House is a

multi-venue performing arts
centre in Sdney, Australia,
identified as one of the 20th
centurys most distinctive
buildings.

Designed by Danish architect

Jorn Utzon, the bilding was
formally opened on 20 october
1973 after a gestation beginning
Sydney (Australia) The Sydney Opera
with Utzons 1957 selection as
House
winner of an international design
competition.

Edinburgh Castle is a historic

fortress which dominates the
skyline of the city of Edinburgh,
Scotland, From its position on
the Castle Rock.

Archeaeologists have
established human occupation of
the rock since at least the Iron
Age, although the nature of the
early settlement is unclear.
From the 15th century the
castles residential role declined,
 Edinburgh (Scotland) Edinburgh Castle
and by the 17th century its was
principall used as military
barracks with a large garrinson.
Burj Khalifa Known as burj
dubai before its inaguration, is
a megatall skycraper in Dubai,
United Arab Emirates. Its the
tallest struture in the world,
standing at 829.8m.

Construction of the Burj Khalifa

began in 2004, with the exterior
completed in 2009. The primay
stucture is reinforced concrete.

The building was opened in

Dubai (United Arab Emirates) The Burj 2010 as part of a new
Khalifa development called Downtown
Dubai. It is designed to be the
centerpiece of large-scale,
mixed-use development.
