To the Student Foundation Selection Committee:

It is with great pleasure to write a letter of recommendation on behalf of Ms. Jerrilyn Roberson for
2016-2017 Student Foundation membership. I cannot think of a more dedicated and respected
student leader than Ms. Roberson.

I had the opportunity to work with Ms. Roberson when she was a member of the 2016 planning
committee for the 31st Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration. She proved herself to be an
organized, dedicated, and collaborative leader. Ms. Roberson took the lead in multiple aspects of the
celebration from writing the script for the theatre production to coordinating the march from Old
Main to the Lyndon B. Johnson Student Center Ballroom. In addition to writing the script she also
directed the production. She kept the production organized; she was enthusiastic, personable with
the actors and crew, creative, a team player by helping when anything was needed, and patient. Even
though she took on multiple leadership roles while planning the celebration she made sure everyone
had input and their voice was heard. Ms. Roberson possesses great communication skills because she
is an excellent listener. She listens and then reflects before she begins to solve a situation.

From what I observed Ms. Roberson possesses the qualities that Student Foundation describes in
their purpose because she is an outstanding student and has a passion for Texas State. She is an
excellent example of a student leader by working as a Peer Mentor in the Personalized Academic and
Career Exploration Center, volunteering with Bobcat Build, the Athletic Training Sports Medicine
Club, Black Women United, and Student Leadership Board as the Campus & Digital Coordinator. In
addition to being involved on campus she also excels in her academics as a Recreation Administration
major with concentration in Therapeutic Recreation.

I believe Ms. Roberson would be an excellent addition to Student Foundation because of her
dedication, work ethic, professionalism, leadership, and enthusiasm for Texas State University. If you
