Ductile iron pipe cutting:

Equipment:
Cut-Off grinder (electrical drive, pneumatic drive or with a gas engine)
Cutting disc (for cutting stone or with diamonds) and a grinding disc (for rounding off, Typ C 30 S
4 B - DIN 69 100)

Procedure:
Pipe on flat ground or on wooden square timbers
Dont cut closer than 1m measured from the joint

CUTTING = OK

Up to DN 300: you can cut them all up to 2/3 of their length, measured form the spigot

Bigger then DN 300

Use cuttable pipes and you can cut them 2/3 Alternative: If you use normal pipes
of their length, measured form the spigot also: measure the spigot and the socket (if they fit
inside each other). Tolerances you find below:

Steps:

1. Marking:

Use a steel band as a gib for marking

2. Cutting:

Cutting with an cut off grinder

3. Rounding:

Rounding off the cut edge (for a safe gasket insert)

4. Coating:

After cutting, the cut area has to be painted with our quick drying coating. Advice: heat up
the area with a gas flame before for even faster drying.

Form A/B standard sockets are TYTON push in joints.
