    Highelectromagneticinterference(EMI)wherethecableistheantennaandtheradiatedEMIfrom
    thecablecaninducevoltagesandcurrentsonnearbycablesandelectricalequipment.Thiscan
    especiallybeaproblemwhenEMIcausesnoiseandcrosstalkincontrolandinstrumentationcables.

    Highearthcurrentsduetoharmonicscausingunbalancesinthethreephaseoutput.Aportionofthe
    unbalancedcurrentsreturntothesource(i.e.inverter)viatheearthconductor.

    Therefore,VSDcablesoftenhavethefollowingspecialcharacteristics:

    thereforereduceearthcurrents
    RobustinsulationgradessuchasXLPEiscommonlyusedoverPVC,sothatthecablecanbetter
    withstandtransientvoltagespikes
